After yet another gigantic theft of personal financial data hits the headlines, some consumers are beginning to question the wisdom of using their credit cards at all. Many have decided that it’s just plain safer to pay in cash whenever possible. On the web, however, using cash is not an option. Most people would be shocked to discover that for the majority of their internet purchases, they need not give out personal credit card data - or even their real name - at all. How is this possible?
